Abstract

Laboratory diagnostics in pediatric nephrology are of essential importance in the primary diagnostics of nephrological diseases as well as in the follow-up surveillance of chronic kidney disease. Targeted analyses of blood and urine samples are decisive for the diagnostics and follow-up control. This article provides an overview of the basic diagnostics using nephrologically relevant laboratory investigations and the importance of some specific diagnostic parameters.
