Abstract

The qualification special cardiovascular prevention contains in depth theoretical knowledge to improve preventive healthcare for cardiac and circulatory diseases. The qualification includes specific knowledge on diagnostics and treatment of the cardiovascular risk factors dyslipidemia, arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, physical inactivity, smoking and unhealthy diet. A particular focus of the qualification is on case examples and practical tips, which clarify the implementation of theoretical knowledge into practice. The qualification will be granted to physicians who successfully complete a basic and advanced course on special cardiovascular prevention and one further course from the topics of smoking cessation, sports cardiology or psychocardiology.
