Abstract

AbstractThe consistent detection and treatment of potentially reversible causes of cardiac arrest are an integral part of current resuscitation guidelines. We present the case of a68-year-old man with sudden chest pain and dyspnoea. The patient developed cardiac arrest in the presence of emergency team. The reversible cause of cardiac arrest could be identified by use of ultrasound imaging during advanced life support and treated directly. The use of prehospital ultrasound is also critically discussed in this case report.
