Abstract

This introduction outlines the mutual references and results of the International Conference and places them in the broader context of an interdisciplinary research project at the Universities of Mannheim and Cologne. The contributions that emerged from the event are presented in more detail with reference to the selected research questions, their objects of investigation and subject-specific approaches, resulting in a fundamental synopsis of European and non-European perspectives on Augustine.
