Abstract

In this article didactical developments on conjugated polymers and electroluminescence in organic LEDs have been introduced, which shall assist teachers to embed future-technologies into science classes. The relevant contents of the curriculum as energy-level-/orbital model, polymers, dyes or electrochemistry can be taught along the context of smartphone displays, which offers an authentic connection to the learners' everyday life. With a little practice, the learners can build their own OLED devices, which increases their motivation and interest for science and technology.
