Abstract

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is an established treatment option for movement disorders which is also used in specific psychiatric disorders. Based on a selective keyword literature search (PubMed) and taking relevant references and our own investigations into account, the present manuscript reviews studies investigating DBS as a treatment option for Tourette syndrome. Until now, only studies with small sample sizes have been conducted. Nevertheless, the results seem to be promising.
