Abstract
Die Arbeit befasst sich mit dem Begriff der species intelligibilis in der Philosophie des Johannes Duns Scotus. Der Begriff der species intelligibilis in der Erkenntnistheorie von Duns Scotus spielt eine Schlüsselrolle in der Erklärung der Intentionalität des Erkennens. Allerdings stellt die scotische Auffassung dieses Begriffs auch Schwierigkeiten im Bezug auf die Erkenntnis der Wirklichkeit dar, denn sie als eine reale Qualität der Seele verstanden wird. Dieses Verständnis vom Begriff der species intelligibilis bietet die Möglichkeit einer repräsentationalistischen Deutung desselben. Eine umfassende Erklärung des ontologischen Status und der Funktion der species intelligibilis innerhalb des Erkenntnisprozesses zeigt allerdings, wie die species intelligibilis zum Mittel der Erkenntnis wird. Eine solche Erklärung ist nur dann möglich, wenn der Begriff der species intelligibilis im Zusammenhang des gesamten Erkenntnisprozesses und des Erkenntnisphänomens betrachtet wird. Eine solche Betrachtung wird in dieser Arbeit angeboten.

| Translated abstract: | Abstract Language The book deals with the concepto of intelligible species in the philosophy of John Duns Scotus. The concept of intelligible species in the theory of knowledge of Duns Scotus plays a key rolle in the explanation of the intentionality of knowledge. Although presents the scotist understanding of this concept some difficulties in relation with the knowledge of reality, because Scotus understands the species as a real quality of the soul. This understanding of the species intelligibilis offers the possibility of a representational interpretation of it. A full explanation of the ontological status and the function of the species in the process of knowledge shows, how one should understand, that the species intelligibilis is a device for knowledge. Such a explanation is just possible, if one considers the intelligible species in relationship to the whole process of knowledge. This book offers a view of the intelligible species in context of Scotus's explanation of the intentionality of knowledge.. English |
