Abstract

Am Beispiel der Prozessionen von Colmarer und Straßburger Handwerkern wurden verschiedene Ebenen symbolischer Kommunikation fassbar. Die Umzüge dienten dazu, Herrschaftsansprüche und Legitimität von Herrschaft zu vermitteln und soziale Hierarchien zu kommunizieren. Die Prozession kommunizierte ein „Innen“ und „Außen“ des Stadtraums und damit Inklusion und Exklusion.

They served to convey claims to power and the legitimacy of rule as well as to communicate social hierarchies.
