Abstract
Rom und seine Geschichte, Roms zivile Helden, Symbole des republikanischen Geistes und Verteidiger der Republik gegen die Unterdrückung der Autokratie und Tyrannei, Rom und seine Kultur, die Rhetorik und Theatralik seiner Literaten, Geschichtsschreiber und Politiker, die im Stande waren, das Schicksal der Republik mit nur einem Wort zu retten, Rom als Symbol der Revolution und der Freiheit – das ist das Rom der Dekabristen, das mit seinen demokratischen und revolutionären Mustern eine wichtige Inspirationsquelle der republikanischen und aufständischen Gesten der dekabristischen literarischen und politischen Bewegung darstellte.
