| Translated abstract: | Abstract Language „Diplomatic Collection“ (DL) of the Hungarian National Archives in Budapest was built in the 19th century. It includes the 108.372 originals and copies preserved in the National Archives, which represent ca. 160.000 texts. The „Diplomatic image collection“ (DF) integrates all other charters concerning the medieval history of Hungary preserved in other archives in Hungary and the abroad (ca. 94.000 inventory numbers). Together they are at least the fundamental source for research on the Hungarian history in the middle ages. While the metadata of both collections has been managed in a database since the 1970s recently the Hungarian National Archives could add digital images of the documents. The complete DL database is on the web since March 2003. English |
