Abstract

This work accounts for the polemics that starred the Argentine writer Julio Cortázar in the intellectual fields context of the 60s, 70s and 80s. We briefly tackle, in the next pages, the necessity of thinking about the identity in the approach of terms: exile and research and not of legacy and acceptance that will determine the writer’s life and define his intellectual commitment with the tumultuous reality of this period. We observe how the literary criticism and cultural paradigm were two his voluntary exile to Paris as of his following forced exile, how his travels influenced in his literary career and we think how far the option of living the Latin American far away developed the narrative strategies and meta-literary reflections that will determine his conception about literature.
