The aim of this study was to analyze emergency medical equipment on-board large European airlines. Based on a previous study for Germany by the same group, airlines based in the European Union, Switzerland, and Norway. Descriptive analysis was used for data presentation and interpretation. From a total of 52 European airlines which were contacted, 23 responded. 22 of these gave detailed information about their equipment. All reported to carry First-Aid-Kits on-board. 82 % claimed to provide Emergency Medical Kits on-board. All of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) requirements for FAKs were met by 7 airlines. Only 2 met all requirements for EMKs. There is a significant difference in emergency medical equipment carried by European airlines. It is essential to enhance standardization of emergency medical equipment in Euro-pean aircraft.
