Abstract
Тази статия е за историята, езика и фолклора на българското население в село Попешти-Леордени близо до Букурещ, като документира фолклора с колекция от оригинални текстове. Към момента на писането, през 1969 г., в селото живеят около пет хиляди българи, чиито предци са се заселили там през 1834 г. Липсата на контакт с майчиния език както и постоянното и систематичното население на местността с граждани от румънски произход доведе до постепенното изчезване на българския език в тази местност. Днес само възрастните хора говорят този език.

| This text treats the history, language and folklore of the Bulgarian population of the village of Popești-Leordeni on the outskirts of Bucharest, documenting the folklore with a collection of original texts. At the time of writing in 1969, there still lived about five thousand Bulgarians in the village, whose ancestors had settled there in 1834. However, the process of assimilation to the Romanian majority was already well under way; today, Popești-Leordeni is an exclusively Romanian-speaking town. | English | | Dieser Text behandelt die Geschichte, die Sprache und die Folklore der bulgarischen Bevölkerung des Dorfes Popești-Leordeni am Stadtrand von Bukarest und dokumentiert die Folklore mit einer Sammlung von Originaltexten. Zum Zeitpunkt der Abfassung im Jahr 1969 lebten noch etwa fünftausend Bulgaren in dem Dorf, deren Vorfahren sich 1834 dort niedergelassen hatten. La momentul scrierii lucrării, în 1969, în sat mai trăiau aproximativ cinci mii de bulgari, ai căror strămoși se stabiliseră acolo în 1834. Inexistența contactului cu limba maternă precum și popularea localității în mod constant și sistematic cu cetățeni de origină română a dus la un proces de stingere treptata a limbii bulgare din această localitate.
