The Romanians have preserved ancestral traditions and a lifestyle that can be no longer found in other European countries. There is a face of Romania that tends to keep hidden despite being a magical one. Fortunately, people like the French writer, Jules Verne, decided to show it to the rest of the world through his novel entitled The Castle of the Carpathians. Given the cultural variety of Transylvania and Romania, the novel is characterised by a strong contrast between tradition and science, reality and fantasy or rejection and approval. Serendipity happens to appear once again in the most unexpected places and moments.
