Abstract

In an 11-month-old girl a reddening and swelling of the right labium majus with a fibrin-covered ulcer was noticed. Due to the unusual genital findings, the forensic medicine and dermatology departments were consulted. Due to the morphology and a positive wound smear for Pseudomonas aeruginosa the findings could be identified as ecthyma gangrenosum. In further immunological investigations a primary autoimmune neutropenia of childhood was detected.
