Abstract

Abstract Asymptomatic bacteriuria is a diagnosis, which frequently leads to the unnecessary use of antibiotics. Recent studies demonstrate, that antibiotics have no advantage in this situation and that anibiotic stewardship interventions can effectively reduce the use of antimicrobial drugs.
