Abstract

The date of origin, the addressee and the intended purpose of Theodoret's of Cyrrhus so-called Haereticarum fabularum compendium demonstrate the profound connection of the writing to the christological dispute between 448 and 452. The significance of the text for the history of heresies and for the reconstruction of texts of Early Christianity is therefore small.
