Abstract

Das Beispiel der Zünfte in Zürich zeigt, dass es die angeblichen Monopole und den Zunftzwang im Mittelalter nicht gab. Stattdessen verdankten die Zünfte ihren Erfolg, der bis zum Ende des Alten Reiches anhielt, ihrer Mobilität und Dynamik. Der Artikel umfasst die Zeit von der Brun‘schen Revolution von 1336, über die Durchsetzung der Zunftverfassung, den Tod von Hans Waldmann 1489 bis zum fünften Geschworenen Brief im Jahr 1498.

Translated abstract:	Abstract Language The example of the guilds in Zurich demonstrates that monopolies and guild compulsion did not exist in the Middle Ages. Instead, the guilds owed their success, which lasted until the end of the Old Empire, to their mobility and dynamism. This article covers the period from Brun's Revolution of 1336, the enforcement of the guild constitution, Hans Waldmann’s death in 1489, to the fifth jury letter in 1498. English
