Abstract

AbstractLanguage
Catherine of Siena never entered the Dominican Order as a nun; she was a "mantellata". Nevertheless, her ties to the order were close, for instance, through her confessor Raimund of Capua. He belonged to the Dominican Order’s reform branch. Together with his reform-conscious brothers Tommaso of Siena and Giovanni Dominici, he tried to establish Catherine as an ideal-type observant saint.English
