Abstract

Katharina von Siena trat niemals als Nonne in den Dominikanerorden ein, sie war eine „Mantellata“. Dennoch war ihre Bindung an den Orden sehr eng, beispielsweise durch ihren Beichtvater Raimund von Capua. Dieser gehörte dem Reformzweig des Dominikanerordens an. Gemeinsam mit seinen reformeifrigen Ordensbrüdern Tommaso von Siena und Giovanni Dominici versuchten sie, Katharina als idealtypische observante Heilige zu etablieren.

Together with his reform-conscious brothers Tommaso of Siena and Giovanni Dominici, he tried to establish Catherine as an ideal-type observant saint. English
