Abstract

Since the first description of lasers and their first application in dermatology, laser therapy has gained enormous importance in the dermatological spectrum of therapy options. Since lasers are often used in aesthetic indications, high standards of safety have to be applied, otherwise judicial controversies and disagreements are unevitable. A retrospective analysis of medical malpractice in dermatology has revealed that laser therapies belong to the risky therapeutic options in dermatology.
