Abstract

The project concerns the realization of a civic and moral economy, in keeping with, e.g., [Ferreras, 2017]’s call for a political theory of the firm, as well as [Mazzucato, 2021]’s call for a mission-oriented economy. As will be argued, the realization of a socially and environmentally sustainable economy can be facilitated – if not guaranteed – via innovations in contract theory, governance and with a shift to relationships as the basic unit of analysis. The proposed perspective is entrenched in interdisciplinary dialogue and seeks to take up and contribute to an innovative new paradigm entitled relational eco- nomics, itself inspired by [Pfeffer and Salancik, 2003]’s Resource-dependency theory. As such, the proposed project seeks to contribute to knowledge build- ing by integrating multiple disciplinary domains to better understand the logics driving intra- and inter-organizational decision-making. The project offers indicators by means of which governments and civic society can assess reform efforts towards building a more socially and ecologically sustainable economy. Moreover, as it argues, many of the building blocks for such efforts already exist in most countries in the world. Knowledge of how to exploit the existing social infrastructre would go to great lengths to save resources and prevent governments from having to “reinvent the wheel.”

Translated abstract:	Abstract Language Das Projekt betrifft die Verwirklichung einer zivilen und moralischen Ökonomie, im Einklang mit z. B. der Forderung von [Ferreras, 2017] nach einer politischen Theorie des Unternehmens, sowie der Forderung von [Mazzucato, 2021] nach einer missionsorientierten Wirtschaft. Wie argumentiert wird, kann die Verwirklichung einer sozial und ökologisch nachhaltigen Wirtschaft durch Innovationen in der Vertragstheorie, der Governance und mit einer Verlagerung auf Beziehungen als grundlegende Analyseeinheit erleichtert – wenn nicht gar garantiert – werden. Die vorgeschlagene Perspektive ist in einem interdisziplinären Dialog verwurzelt und versucht, ein innovatives neues Paradigma mit dem Titel relationale Ökonomie aufzugreifen und zu diesem beizutragen, das seinerseits von der Ressourcenabhängigkeitstheorie von [Pfeffer und Salancik, 2003] inspiriert ist. Als solches versucht das vorgeschlagene Projekt, zum Wissensaufbau beizutragen, indem es mehrere disziplinäre Domänen integriert, um die Logik besser zu verstehen, die die Entscheidungsfindung innerhalb und zwischen Organisationen antreibt. Das Projekt bietet Indikatoren, anhand derer Regierungen und Zivilgesellschaft Reformbemühungen zum Aufbau einer sozial und ökologisch nachhaltigeren Wirtschaft bewerten können. Darüber hinaus existieren, wie es argumentiert, viele der Bausteine ​​für solche Bemühungen bereits in den meisten Ländern der Welt.
